Job DescriptionHighly customer facing role. Email Security Engineers' act as the primary point of contact for email security related issues and escalations. Main task is to troubleshoot and resolve email security related issues of the customer within agreed SLA. This includes end-to-end email pipeline troubleshooting, threat analysis, debugging, log analysis and policy configuration. Work directly with the vendor support team for any platform or service related issuesTroubleshootingTriage of email security incidents, following ITIL incident management framework for different severity levels and identify, response, resolve and close cases in a timely manner.Correct interpretation of services request and timely resolutionPerform end-to-end email troubleshooting from MX record to connectivity issues with all relevant stakeholdersStrong understanding of cloud business email flow and message header interpretation, DNS, SMTP hops and how that model works and apply those concepts in troubleshooting.Troubleshooting of email queues and worklogsMaintain constant communication for both internal and external stakeholders for high impact issuesProvide root cause analysis for high severity cases and recommendation to prevent similar issue from happening in the futureTechnical expertiseExperience of Cisco ESA/WSA (Ironport) is preferredExperience of Palo Alto Firewall configurationKnowledge and experience on MS Exchange, Microsoft secure email, G-SuiteThorough understanding of inbound and outbound email flow including TCP/IP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, email server, exchange server configuration and management, MTA, MUA, MDA, MX record, smart host, email headers, metadata, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, TLS, LDAP etcIP Addresses, Masks, Default Gateway, DNS, Subnetting, Knowledge of common assigned portsConcept of email security and different filters used to prevent & contain spam, virus, malware, and other security threatsExperience administering a perimeter email filtering server (IronPort would be ideal)Experience in managing virtual appliances & SAAS in a private and public cloud infrastructureLinux/Unix administrationDocumentationWrite technical documentation, best practices, statement of procedures, security rules, policies and applications, other integral part of the overall email security solution for the customers. Update existing documents for any change implemented.
